Thailand 2007
This collection of images reflects a tourist's view of Thailand from 16 February to 9 March, 2007 - from Bangkok, north to Kanchanaburi, Phitsanulok, Phrae, Chaing Rai, a quick trip to Myanmar (Burma) and Laos, and to Chaing Mai in Thailand; and from Bangkok south to Phuket and the Phi Phi Islands

Approximately 80km from Kanchanaburi is Hellfire Pass where many lives were lost during the World War II construction of one of the most difficult sections of the River Kwai Railway - the Death Railway.
To lay track here, Allied POW's and Asian conscripts carved through over 325 feet of solid rock almost entirely by hand.
The Burma-Thailand Railroad Memorial Trail pays tribute to the many prisoners who died in the excavation.
